The Evolution of AIBS

Define the Standard

AIBS is strengthening its role as the peak professional body for building surveying. Our refreshed brand and improved member platform make it easier to manage accreditation, CPD and professional standing.
The Next Chapter for AIBS

The Australian Institute of Building Surveyors (AIBS) has supported building surveyors across Australia for decades. As the profession continues to evolve, so too must the organisation that represents it.

Our refreshed brand reflects the role AIBS plays today — shaping professional standards, supporting members throughout their careers and helping strengthen trust in the built environment.

This new identity represents both continuity and progress as AIBS continues to elevate the building surveying profession.

The evolution of the AIBS brand

  • A contemporary identity for a modern profession: The refreshed AIBS brand introduces a contemporary visual identity designed to reflect the organisation’s leadership within the profession while maintaining the authority and credibility members recognise.
  • Logo and brandmark: The refreshed AIBS brandmark combines an elevating arrow with a bar representing the standard — symbolising AIBS’ role in raising and defining professional standards within the building surveying profession and across the built environment.
  • Colour palette: The new palette combines strong foundational colours with a more dynamic accent range, allowing the brand to communicate with greater clarity and visual impact.
  • A modern visual system: Updated typography, photography and graphic elements create a distinctive visual identity that sets AIBS apart while maintaining consistency across all communications.

“This new era reflects how far we have come as an organisation, and more importantly, where we are going as the national voice of building surveying in Australia."

Sid Gokani, AIBS CEO

A brand brought to life

The refreshed AIBS identity reflects a modern profession and a forward-looking organisation.

From the previous identity to the new logos and brandmark, this evolution introduces a more contemporary expression of AIBS.

What the new brand represents

The refreshed AIBS brand reflects the organisation’s continued commitment to defining and advancing professional standards.

It represents:

  • leadership in building surveying
  • a connected professional community
  • the evolution of the profession
  • trust and integrity in the built environment

The identity introduces a more contemporary visual language while maintaining the authority and credibility that members and industry recognise.

A more modern member experience

Alongside the refreshed brand, AIBS has launched a new website and improved member systems designed to make it easier to access services, manage professional requirements and stay connected with the profession.

Streamlined professional processes

Faster, more efficient ways to manage key tasks including accreditation, reaccreditation, CPD tracking and certificate access — reducing manual admin and saving time.

Greater control over professional standing

Accredited members can manage CPD, maintain accreditation and update their professional profile, with improved visibility through the Find a Building Surveyor directory.

Access everything in one place

A centralised member portal and resource hub bring together tools, resources and services, making it easier to find information and manage interactions with AIBS.

Improved access to critical information and services

A restructured website makes it easier to access accreditation information, professional resources and key services when needed.

This refreshed brand marks the evolution of AIBS.

While the visual identity has evolved, the purpose remains the same — supporting building surveyors, strengthening professional standards and helping shape the future of the profession.

Together with our members, AIBS will continue to Define the Standard.

“AIBS has grown in scale and influence, and this evolution reflects the role we now play across the profession."

Wayne Liddy, AIBS President & Director Victoria
