AIBS Member Management Help

Your Account Settings

Forgotten or do not know your password?

You will likely have an existing account if...
If you have attended an AIBS event within the last five years
You are a current AIBS member or have been a member in the last five years
Please attempt to retrieve your password before creating an account, or contact the AIBS Office if you are uncertain.

Go to aibs.com.au on your computer or mobile device.

Click on 'Sign in' located to the right of the AIBS logo at the top of the home page.

Under the 'Sign in' button, select 'forgot my password'.

Enter your Work email address into the username field and click 'submit'. If this email address is not recognised, please try your Home email.

Check your email for the password reset link which will be sent to you.

Please document your password in a secure location as the AIBS staff cannot view your existing password and will have to re-set it if your password is lost.

If you do not have a password set, or have forgotten your password, see above for details on how to reset your password.

Go to aibs.com.au on your computer or mobile device.

Click on 'Sign in' located to the right of the AIBS logo at the top of the home page.

Click on your name, which should now display to the right of the AIBS logo at the top of the home page. This will take you to your personal profile.

Navigate to the "Preferences" tab, located above your membership information in your profile.

Click on "Change My Password" and follow the prompts to enter your new password.

Please document your password in a secure location as the AIBS staff cannot view your existing password and will have to re-set it if your password is lost.

Changing your Username

Changing your aibs.com.au username

Your username will not automatically update to reflect changes made to your email information. To change your username, please contact [email protected] or contact the AIBS Office.

Changing your contact details

To update any of your details, please start by logging into your account.

Navigate to your account page by clicking on your name in the header bar of the website, located on the top right of your screen. This will take you to your account page and from here, any information that is editable by you will be indicated by a grey pencil icon.

Locate the information you would like to edit, and open the editing screen by clicking on the grey pencil icon near the top right of where the information is displayed.

For example, to change your contact phone number, click on the pencil icon to the right of the 'Addresses' box.

Within the editing screen, locate the text box for the contact detail you would like to edit, and change your information as desired.

Please note that when assigning purposes to an address, these are the following options:

Mailing address refers to the address you want emails sent to.

Billing address refers to the address you wish to be billed at.

Shipping address refers to the address you wish to have any mail sent to.

If you need any changes made to your membership or to an invoice, please contact us.

Changing your Communication Preferences

Changing your aibs.com.au communication preferences

	Navigate to your account page by clicking on your name in the header bar of the website, located on the top right of your screen. This will take you to your account page.
	Navigate to the "Preferences" tab, located above your membership information in your profile.
	Check or uncheck the types of communications that you would like to receive, and click save. Please note that you will still receive limited important information from AIBS via email, including emails regarding your membership fee or changes to the membership, if you unsubscribe from all available options.

Activate or deactivate your Find a Building Surveyor Listing

Navigate to your account page by clicking on your name in the header bar of the website, located on the top right of your screen. This will take you to your account page.

Navigate to the "My Membership Details" tab of your profile. This tab is only visible by AIBS members. If you cannot see this tab and believe that you should be able to, please contact us.

Check or uncheck the box to toggle your listing in the FABS directory next to "Yes, I would like my Organisational information displayed within the Find A Building Surveyor search tool."

Please note that the information that will be displayed is the information from your Public Profile and from whichever address is nominated as your “Preferred mailing address".

Events, Training & Conferencing

You must be logged into to register for any event or make changes to any registration.

Registering for an event

	Navigate to the events page for the session that you wish to register for.
	Click on 'Register myself' located at the bottom of the page.
	Answer the additional questions for the event, and click 'Save responses'. You will be notified when these have been saved.
	You can come back and change your question answers at any time once registered.
	Click proceed to checkout to view your cart and make payment. The cart will display all events you have pending registrations for that have not yet been paid for. To pay now, fill in your payment details and click "Submit Order" to complete payment. To create an open invoice for payment, select "pay later" above payment details and click "Submit Order" to generate the invoice. To pay an open invoice, please refer to the steps outline in the ”Invoicing & payment” section.

Changing your answers to event questions

	Navigate to the events page for the session that you wish to change your answers for.
	Scroll down the page until you are able to see the questions you have previously answered
	Fill out or change your responses to the questions for the event, and click 'Save responses'. You will be notified when these have been saved after a brief wait.

Registering multiple delegates at one time for an event

To use this feature, you must be a group administrator for your company. To find out how to set this up, call or email the AIBS office.

	Navigate to the events page for the session that you wish to register for.
	Click on 'Register Someone Else' located at the bottom of the page and wait for the pop-up window to open.
	Click on "Register an existing member" and wait for the drop down box of employees from your company to appear.Once more than one person has been selected, you will be able to change see the registered individuals and switch between them for the purposes for answering event questions.
	Choose the individual you would like to register and proceed Once more than one person has been selected, you will be able to change see the registered individuals and switch between them for the purposes for answering event questions Repeat steps 2 to 4 for multiple people.
	Click proceed to checkout to view your cart and make payment. All registrations done via this method for a single event will become part of a single invoice. To pay now, fill in your payment details and click "Submit Order" to complete payment. To create an open invoice for payment, select "pay later" above payment details and click "Submit Order" to generate the invoice. To Pay an open invoice, see Paying an Invoice or Membership Renewal below.

Cancelling your event registration

To cancel your event registration, email your request for cancellation to AIBS as soon as possible. .

Setting up a Group Administrator

To set up a Group Administrator, email your request to [email protected].

Invoicing & Payment

Bill an invoice to your company

This is only available if you have a company assigned to your AIBS.com.au account profile.

When proceeding through the checkout, click on the dropdown box labeled "Bill To" to select the company you wish to bill your invoice to. After the page refreshes, the checkout screen should now reflect the company billing name and address.

Proceed through and confirm your order and payment.

Downloading a Open Invoice or Receipt (Closed Invoice)

	Navigate to your account page by clicking on your name in the header bar of the website, located on the top right of your screen.
	To access an invoice billed to you, navigate to the participation tab of your profile. For established company administrator accounts: to access an invoice billed to your company, click on your company name in blue under your name in the user profile. Proceed to the Participation tab. To view an invoice billed to a company, you must have your account assigned to the company administrator role. To set up a group administrator account for your company, please call the AIBS office on 1300 312 427
	Click on the invoice number for either an Open or Closed invoice. In the window that loads, click "Download". Click on the bright red Adobe Reader icon located to the top left of the invoice. This will download a PDF of your invoice. You can now open the saved file and use the print option in the File menu.

Paying an Open Invoice

	Navigate to your account page by clicking on your name in the header bar of the wesite, located on the top right of your screen.
	To access an invoice billed to you, navigate to the participation tab of your profile. For established company administrator accounts: to access an invoice billed to your company, click on your company name in blue under your name in the user profile. Proceed to the Participation tab. This will allow you to view your open invoices which are located at the top of the page. For each invoice, you are be able to see the Date, Description, Due Date, Amount and Balance Due.
	Select the open invoice you wish to pay by clicking on the checkbox to the left of the invoice number under the 'Open Invoices' tab. To pay an open invoice billed to a company, you must have your account assigned to the company administrator role. To set up a group administrator account for your company, please call the AIBS office on 1300 312 427
	Click 'add to cart' to add the invoice to your shopping cart for payment.

Membership

Change or upgrade membership type

If your circumstances change (for example, if you were studying but have now completed your qualification) you can change or upgrade your membership type accordingly. In order to do this, simple apply for the new desired membership level through the Join AIBS page. Once the new membership level is approved, your membership information will be adjusted by AIBS staff.

Similarly, if you have retired from the workforce and are no longer working, you can be eligible to become a Retired Member. Applications for Retired membership must be submitted in writing to the AIBS Member Services Team.

Furthermore, those who have given dedicated and ongoing service to AIBS and to the profession of Building Surveying may be nominated for elevation to the status of Fellow or Life Fellow. Membership information will be updated for those elevated to Fellow or Life fellow status.

Transfer of Chapter

The Chapter an AIBS member belongs to is determined by the state of their “Preferred shipping address”, but must be changed in the system by the AIBS staff. If you notice that your Chapter is inconsistent with your address information, please contact us to have this updated. Similarly, if an AIBS staff member notices that your Chapter and address are inconsistent, you will be contacted regarding this.

Uploading evidence for AIBS student membership

	Navigate to your account page by clicking on your name in the header bar of the website, located on the top right of your screen. This will take you to your account page.
	Click on the 'Student Enrollment' tab, located near the top of the page.
	Click on the + symbol above 'StudentEvidence' to open the upload options, and upload your documentation.
