Solar PV System Installation - Supplementary training for the purpose of Schedule 3 (15)(3)(b)(iv) of the South Australian Development Regulations 2008

- A numbered certificate will be issued on completion of the training
- The Australian Institute of Building Surveyors training package has been accepted by the SA Government
About this event:
On 1 January 2009 changes were made to Schedule 3 of the Development Regulations 2007 to identify the criteria that allows the installation of solar photovoltaic panels without the need to obtain a Development Approval.
These criteria are:
a. the panels must be installed on the roof of a building; an
b. the weight of the panels must not exceed 100 kilograms at any point of attachment to the roof; and
c. the panels (and any associated components) must not overhang any part of the roof; and
d. the panels must be fitted parallel to the roof with the underside surface of the panels not more than 100 millimeters above the surface of the roof: and
e. the panels must be installed by a person who holds an accreditation under a scheme recognised by the Minister for the purpose of this paragraph
For the purpose of (e), the Minister for Urban Development and Planning has recognised the following:
- accreditation with the Clean Energy Council;
- and completion of supplementary training provided by AIBS
Development Approvals is still required if the place where the solar photovoltaic panels are to be installed is a local heritage place and the system is able to been seen by a person standing at ground level in a public street.

Event Terms and Conditions
By registering for any training event or conference, you accept and agree to these terms and conditions.
All registrations are confirmed upon completion of registration and issue of an invoice.
Payment terms on all invoices are the earlier of 14 days from the date of invoice, or prior to the first day of the event (where the registration is completed and invoice issued less than 14 days from the first day of the event).
Any cancellation of registrations must be made in writing to [email protected]. A failure to make payment in accordance with the above payment terms will not be accepted as a valid cancellation.
Refunds will be provided for cancellations as follows:
o More than 30 days before the first day of the event – Full Refund
o Between 7 and 30 days before the first day of the event – 50% Refund
o Less than 7 days before the first day of the event – No Refund
Participants may request in writing to transfer their registration to another event or session, up to 1 working day prior to the first day of the event for which they are registered, without any penalty.
For all AIBS training events, minimum numbers must be met prior to the date to proceed.
